The project, and with it the journey of Ocean Traveler, will begin in Europe in may 2027. This gives the crew of the ship the opportunity to get to know the vessel well and to identify and resolve any possible problems. Europe has many marine conservation projects and some unique maritime nature areas that are worth visiting and reporting on. Already on the program for the first expedition are: seagrass beds in Denmark; skerry coast clean-up in Norway; orca watching in Norway; seed storage, coastal cleanup, and more in Svalbard. After this first expedition, projects in Scotland, Portugal, Spain, and Italy will be visited. After that, it will be time for an ocean crossing to visit projects in more distant locations.
